…Promoting literacy through visual arts
Illmi Children’s Fund, an NGO whose mandate is to bridge the gap between funding and access to basic education and literacy will partner with Art for Literacy, a group of visual artists in Nigeria for an art exhibition that will help drive home the message of quality and inclusive education through the art medium, as well as raise funds for Nigeria’s over 10 million out-of-school children and ICF’s literacy initiatives in marginalised and hard-to-reach communities across Nigeria.
The exhibition will bring together seasoned and upcoming artists who believe in the power of art to influence positive change and bring about social justice. Audience at the Art exhibition are expected to be drawn from all walks of life including Philanthropy, Technology, Policy Makers and the expatriate community.
The overarching goal of the exhibition is to raise awareness on the poor state of basic education in the country, identify artistic talents and to raise funds that will enable access to basic education for children from underserved communities.
